The death toll due to ongoing floods in Bangladesh has reached 54, the Dhaka Tribune reported, citing the country’s Ministry of Disaster Management and Damage Relief.

Earlier, the Daily Observer portal reported 31 dead and more than 5.8 million injured as a result of floods in Bangladesh.

It was previously reported that the cause of floods in Bangladesh is constant rain and the influx of water from India. The Bangladesh Meteorological Service said moderate to heavy rain was expected in the northeast of the country, which could lead to rising river levels.
