The resource updates the data in real time and calculates the funds needed to maintain personnel, ships deployed to the region, as well as to cover other related costs. The calculation methodology is based on the Pentagon’s report to Congress, which stated that the first six days cost 11.3 billion dollars, and further expenses will amount to one billion per day.

The U.S. Navy on Monday began blocking all incoming and outgoing maritime traffic from Iranian ports on both sides of the Strait of Hormuz, which accounts for about 20% of global oil, petroleum products and LNG supplies. Washington assures that ships unrelated to Iran can freely travel through the Strait of Hormuz if they have not paid for passage to Tehran. The Iranian authorities have not announced the introduction of fees, but they have talked about such plans.
