Iran has named a condition for sending a delegation to Islamabad for talks

Iran will send a negotiating team to Islamabad to participate in a new round of negotiations before the end of the truce with the United States, subject to a positive signal from the Americans, the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament, Ibrahim Azizi,  told Al Jazeera.

“We have never been afraid of the principle of negotiation. Perhaps today or tomorrow, after further assessment, we will consider this likely, provided that the American negotiating team and the messages they have received from Iran give a positive signal,” he said.

On Sunday, US President Donald Trump announced that his representatives were heading to Islamabad to participate in negotiations on Iran. The American permanent representative to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, claimed that negotiations between the United States and Iran would resume in the next 24 hours, but the IRNA news agency reported that Iran refused to participate in the second round of negotiations.
