Sweden signed a new military cooperation agreement with the United States.

Sweden has entered into a new military cooperation agreement with the United States to strengthen its borders.

The new agreement will expand the possibilities for conducting joint military operations and exercises for the two countries, in particular, during the period of consideration of the application of the northern European state to join NATO.

“Cooperation has never been more important than it is now, and our troops are ready to defend Sweden,” US Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville told.

At the same time, McConville stressed that the United States and Sweden are already closely cooperating in the military sphere. He also added that the United States is “concerned about the state of affairs in the Arctic,” and the Swedish military are experts on the region.

In turn, the commander-in-chief of the Swedish army, Karl Engelbrektson, said that “being good friends with the United States is not bad at all when it comes to war.”
