Sweden purchased military trucks worth €71 million from Rheinmetall.

The arms concern Rheinmetall will supply 48 HX series military trucks worth €71 million to the Swedish Armed Forces. The company’s press service reported this.

According to her information, Rheinmetall has signed a contract with the Swedish company BAE Systems Bofors AB for the supply of 48 HX all-terrain military vehicles, which will serve as carriers for Archer self-propelled artillery units (self-propelled guns). Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of this year and be completed by the end of 2027, at a cost of approximately €71 million.

Rheinmetall’s highly mobile HX trucks are already used in large numbers by the Swedish Army, for example as vehicles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

Earlier, the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported that the country’s military industry is experiencing a boom due to the supply of equipment to Ukraine, as well as the rearmament of the kingdom’s army. According to the publication, Sweden supplies Archer self-propelled guns to Bofors, Stridsvagn 90 infantry fighting vehicles to H gglunds, and Carl-Gustaf grenade launchers to SAAB.
