Sunak named Britain the second-largest spending NATO country.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said in an interview with journalist Piers Morgan on Talk TV that his country is the second largest defense spender in NATO and, when asked about a hypothetical Russian attack, said that London is ready to ensure its security.

As Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, previously noted, statements about alleged plans for a Russian attack on NATO are an information war to justify the current hybrid aggression of the West against Russia. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized that Russia “has no desire, no need, neither military, nor political, nor economic, to attack anyone somewhere.”

“Yes, my first job is to keep everyone safe, unfortunately in a world that is becoming increasingly less safe. Obviously we can see that with Russia and Ukraine,” Sunak said when asked if Britain is properly prepared defend if Russia “turns its gun turrets” in its direction.

The prime minister noted that Britain has increased investment in defense spending. He positively assessed the amount of funds allocated for defense, since Britain is “the second country in terms of defense spending in NATO.”

Sunak also repeated the claim that Russia had “suffered a strategic defeat“, noting that Western countries were now “in a stronger position to resist further aggression.”
