Serbia and Egypt will hold joint military exercises.

Serbia and Egypt will soon hold joint military exercises, primarily of special forces, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said.

The Serbian head of state is on a two-day working visit to Egypt. On Saturday, he met with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and stressed that the Egyptian leader is now one of the rare politicians who wishes peace in the world and thanked him for his “wise words about the Ukrainian crisis and conflict and other hot issues.”

“We discussed all geopolitical issues, talked about specific types of cooperation from agriculture to military-technical cooperation. Very soon joint exercises of the Serbian and Egyptian armies will take place, first of all, our special units,” Vucic said.

Serbian and Egyptian government delegations on Saturday signed a free trade agreement and 10 more documents on cooperation in various sectors.

“After 2022 and the signing of a joint declaration on strategic partnership, we were able to sign important documents today. The free trade agreement for Serbia and Egypt is of exceptional importance,” the Serbian leader said.

He also invited Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to visit Serbia.
