Scholz said that German soldiers would not be sent to Ukraine.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz released a separate video message on Wednesday in which he again stated: NATO will not become a party to the conflict in Ukraine, and German troops will not be sent to Ukraine.

“NATO is not and will not become a party to the conflict. It will remain so in the future. We do not want the war between Russia and Ukraine to turn into a war between Russia and NATO. In this we are united with all our allies. This also means: no German participation in the war “And I can say straight out: as Federal Chancellor, I will not send members of the German Armed Forces to Ukraine!” – Scholz said in an appeal published on his page on the social network X.

In addition, the Chancellor said that Germany, together with its allies, is working to increase assistance to Ukraine.

“What the Ukrainian army most urgently needs now is more ammunition and more weapons, especially air defense. I have actively advocated for this (in conversations) with our partners in the past weeks. Many have understood this. Together we are making efforts to increase the volume support for Ukraine,” Scholz added.
