Sarah Palin endorses Trump

Sarah Palin endorses Trump

The race for the White House has been full of endorsements and supports. Recently, Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice-presidential nominee who became a Tea Party sensation and a favorite of grass-roots conservatives, endorsed GOP front runner, Donald Trump in Iowa on Tuesday, providing him with a potentially significant boost just 13 days before the state’s caucuses. “Are you ready for the leader to make America great again?” Mrs. Palin said with Mr. Trump by her side at a rally at Iowa State University. “Are you ready to stump for Trump? I’m here to support the next president of the United States — Donald Trump.”

Trump proud of Sarah Palin’s endorsement

According to the New York times, her support is the highest-profile backing for a Republican so far. It came the same day that Iowa’s Republican governor, Terry Branstad, said he hoped that Senator Ted Cruz would be defeated in Iowa. The Feb. 1 caucuses are a must-win for the Texas senator, who is running neck-and-neck with Mr. Trump in state polls. The business mogul said in a statement that he was “proud” to receive her backing. Ms Palin was a “trusted conservative” with a “proven record of being fiscally modest, staunchly pro-life and believes in small government that allows businesses to grow and freedom to prosper”, the statement added.

Trump thank UK supporters for sticking up for him

Donald Trump has thanked his “supporters in the UK” for “sticking up for him” after British MPs branded him a “fool” and a “wazzock” in a debate over whether the US presidential contender should be banned from the UK. “I’m honoured by the tremendous support I have in the UK and that whole thing went away. Very few people even showed up to talk about it” he said.

Trump surprised by the MPs debate of his ban

The debate did not end in a vote and does not have any influence on Government policy. Trump said of the debate: “I was sort of surprised it would happen; you know 500,000 votes today is a whole different thing than it would have been 10 years ago, before Twitter and all… they really stuck up for me and I want to thank them.”
