The head of the French Republicans party, Eric Sciotti, said on the social network X that he excludes the possibility of forming a ruling coalition between his party and the presidential Renaissance party following the results of early elections to the National Assembly.

“Entering a coalition with this government, which has caused so much damage to France, is out of the question. Macronism always means more taxes, immigration and less security,” he wrote.

From June 6 to June 9, elections to the European Parliament were held in EU countries. According to preliminary results, the right-wing National Rally party is winning in France, gaining 32 percent of the vote. President Emmanuel Macron’s Renaissance party comes in second with 15.4 percent.

The Republicans, with 6.8 percent of the vote, are fifth, behind the list of deputies from the Socialist Party and the Public Place party (13.9 percent), as well as Unbowed France (9.3 percent). In sixth place is “Reconquest” (5.2 percent), in seventh place is “Environmentalists” (five percent).

Against the background of his party’s poor results, Macron announced the dissolution of the National Assembly and the holding of early parliamentary elections. The first round will take place on June 30, the second on July 7.
