Oil wells worth $1 billion found in Turkey

In the Turkish city of Adana, oil was discovered in two wells, the reserves of which are estimated at about $1 billion.

“Two wells in Adana, where exploration work is being carried out, have found high-quality oil. The value of the reserves is estimated at about $1 billion,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the country Alparslan Bayraktar said earlier that Turkey is going to increase gas consumption and expand fuel supply opportunities in 2022. The country is developing long-term oil and gas exploration programs and investing in infrastructure, he said. For example, the country has already launched two major projects with Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, Albania and Italy.

On June 13, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took part in the solemn ceremony of the start of laying the gas pipeline at the bottom of the Black Sea off the coast of the republic.
