American entrepreneur Elon Musk, against the backdrop of mass unrest in Great Britain, predicted a civil war in the country on the social network.

Far-right protests have begun to gain momentum in Britain following the deaths of three children in a stabbing. The Times reported that at least 35 shares were expected over the weekend.

“Civil war is inevitable,” Musk wrote, commenting on one of the videos from protests in British cities.

Police in the British county of Merseyside reported on July 29 an attack on children with a knife in the city of Southport. Three children died, several more children and two adults were taken to hospital in critical condition. Law enforcement officers detained a 17-year-old teenager and charged him with murder of three people, attempted murder of ten more and possession of bladed weapons. Police confirmed that they do not link the attack to terrorism. According to police, the attack occurred during dance and yoga classes for children.

The reaction of residents of Southport, London and a number of other cities to the attack resulted in protests, which escalated into clashes with the police and riots due to the spread of unconfirmed information that the suspect was a refugee. Sky News later reported that the perpetrator of the attack was a Rwandan teenager born in Wales. According to law enforcement officials, the riots were allegedly caused by supporters of the far-right movement English Defense League. A number of British media outlets saw an alleged Russian trace in the incitement of far-right protests.
