More than 40 Al-Shabab militants have been eliminated in Somalia

The Somali authorities have eliminated more than 40 members of the radical Islamist group Al-Shabab, according to the Somali National Television (SNTV).

According to the publication of the TV channel on the social network X, the militants were eliminated during a joint operation of the Somali national army and “international partners” on Sunday in the state of Hirshabelle.

“More than 40 Al-Shabaab terrorists were eliminated during an operation conducted by the Somali National Army and international partners in the Biya Kadde area of Hirshabelle State on Sunday,” the TV channel said in a statement.

The radical Islamist group Al-Shabab (the Young Mujahideen Movement), based in Somalia, has close ties with the international terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. It is waging an armed struggle against the central Government of Somalia and hinders the humanitarian activities of the United Nations. The United States regularly strikes Al-Shabab positions.
