Lionel Messi’s wife is the daughter of a supermarket owner, at the age of five, he met her at the age of five. Antonella was the cousin of his friend and professional footballer Lucas Scaglia. At the age of 13, Lionel moved to Spain to play for Barcelona junior squad but the two continued to stay in touch and started dating later on.
The couple has already two sons together, Thiago and Matteo and resides in Barcelona, but official ceremony was held only this year. Probably, Antonella and Lionel decided that their love should be sealed with an official document.
Lionel and Antonella’s wedding was called the “wedding of the century” in the local press, bride and groom were joined by 260 of relatives and friends, including Messi’s teammates Luis Suárez, Neymar and Gerard Piqué who attended the event with singer Shakira, his life partner and mother of their two kids.

The wedding ceremony became a solid event, around 150 journalists were given accreditation to enter a specific area of the City Centre Complex where the couple later posed for photos.
The bride is 29, she looked relaxed and radiant in a mermaid-style lace gown by Spanish designer Rosa Clara, who has dressed Queen Letizia of Spain. Lionel Messi wore a three-piece suit with a powder blue tie, his classical outfit was well-coordinated with the dress of her wife.
