Israeli planes attacked targets of the Shiite Hezbollah movement in Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on its Telegram channel.
⠀
“Overnight, Israeli aircraft carried out strikes on a number of Hezbollah terrorist targets both deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon,” the publication says.
⠀
Targets were hit, including in the areas of Chabriha, Borj el-Chmali, Kfarkela, Rab el-Talatin, Khiam and Tayr Kharfa. Among the affected objects are weapons caches and infrastructure, the IDF said.
⠀
The night before, the Israeli army reported that the town of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights had been hit by a rocket attack. According to the Magen David Adom ambulance service, 12 people were killed, these were children and teenagers, as the impact hit a football field. Another 19 people were taken to hospitals, six of them are in serious condition.
⠀
The IDF said that an Iranian-made Falak-1 missile was fired from an area in southern Lebanon. The Israeli authorities blamed Beirut and the Hezbollah movement, which Tel Aviv claims is under the leadership of Iran, responsible for the incident.
⠀
At the same time, a senior Hezbollah source said that the movement denies involvement in the attack. The Lebanese government, for its part, condemned the attack on civilians and called for a ceasefire on all fronts.
