Israel has restricted the use of fuel from Egypt in Gaza, UNRWA said.

Only half of the fuel tanker truck arrived in the Gaza Strip, but Israeli authorities have limited its use to only transport humanitarian aid from the Rafah crossing,  the director of UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip Thomas White said.

“Just received 23,027 tons of fuel from Egypt (half a tanker), but its use has been limited by the Israeli authorities to only aid transport from Rafah. No fuel for water and hospitals,” White wrote on social media X.

According to him, the amount of fuel supplied represents only 9% of the enclave’s daily needs to save lives.
