Isabelle Huppert, the popular French actress, paid a visit to Ukraine, her appearance at Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater became a real surprise. Last week, the south Ukrainian city of Odessa welcomed the participants of the 8th Odessa International Film Festival.
Since 2009, the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in Odessa rolls out its red carpet in the mid-July city welcomes the annual film festival. This year, the special guest was Isabelle Huppert who confessed she ‘always felt very special about Ukraine’.
The festival started on July 14, during one week the directors presented their movies. Film fest’s closing ceremony started with a red carpet where festival’s participants and guests had a chance to show off their evening gowns and pose for the cameras. On July 22, Odessa residents and tourists surrounded the famous Opera Theater to watch the bombastic ceremony.

Alongside charmant Isabelle Huppert, the Odessa Film Festival welcomed other stars like German Golden Bear-awarded director Christian Petzold, Sibel Kekilli, the performer from “Game of Thrones,” Polish Oscar-nominated director Agnieszka Holland.

Ms Huppert said in Russian during the awarding ceremony.
