Since early morning, searches have been taking place at the leaders of the opposition party in Moldova, Renaissance, who live in the north of the country, the head of the press service of the political formation, Olesya Vitnyanskaya said.

On September 21, the Moldovan prosecutor’s office conducted searches in the homes of Paraschi and other members of this party in the case of illegal, as prosecutors claim, its financing. On the same day, parliament, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, deprived Alexander Nesterovsky and Irina Lozovan, members of the Renaissance party, of parliamentary immunity; they were placed under arrest for 30 days, Lozovan – under house arrest, Nesterovsky – in a pre-trial detention center. On Tuesday, the panel of judges of the Chisinau Court of Appeal decided to uphold the first instance decision.

“We have been conducting searches this morning. This time we knocked on the door of Vyacheslav Zhukov in Balti, who heads the list for the municipal council of Balti from the Renaissance party. We knocked on the door of the leader of the party organization Anton Osadchuk in Riscani, who is also a candidate for the city council of the city “We knocked on the door of candidate Valery Myrza in Ocnita, who is also a trusted representative of the party and today must submit documents as candidate Irina Lozovan for the position of mayor of the city and candidate for the city council,” Vitnyanskaya said.

According to her, searches are also being carried out at the leaders of other northern cities of the republic – in Floresti and Drochia.

The Renaissance Party regularly holds pickets at government departments, representative offices of countries and EU organizations to draw attention to problems within the country. In July, the political force launched a collection of signatures to recognize the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) as unconstitutional. At the end of August, the political formation also announced the launch of the process of collecting signatures for the republic to join the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
