In Germany, the Greens were accused of racism against whites in the German national team.

The German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party accused Kathrin Goering-Eckardt, deputy chairman of the Bundestag from the Green party, of “racism against whites” after her post on the social network X about the skin color of the players of the German national football team.

“Racism against whites”: the Greens’ hatred of those who have lived here for a long time is not just unbearable. At the same time, it is the driving force behind the destructiveness of the ruling party, which is destroying its own country at all levels,” the AfD said in a statement on the social network X.

On Wednesday evening, after West Germany’s second win at EURO 2024, Goering-Eckardt wrote on social media X: “Imagine for a moment if it (the West Germany team) had only white German players.” After a wave of outraged comments, she deleted the post and then apologized for poorly wording her thought. According to the politician, she was prompted to write the post by a recent survey, according to which every fifth resident of Germany would like to see more “white” players in the national team.

AfD co-chair Alice Weidel spoke in a similar vein.

“The “racism against whites” glorified by Goering-Eckardt is not an isolated incident, but rather a government program of the Greens. This is obvious wherever the well-being and safety of citizens are senselessly destroyed,” she wrote on the social network X.
