Germany has offered Poland to place eight launchers of its Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems on the border with Ukraine, Polish Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak said.

“Germany is talking about eight launchers of the Patriot system,” he said, speaking on Thursday at the country’s Sejm.


Earlier, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced an agreement with her Polish counterpart on patrolling Polish airspace by German Eurofighter fighters and deploying Patriot air defense systems in the country. After that, Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, Chairman of the ruling party of Poland “Law and Justice” (PiS) Jaroslaw Kaczynski, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of the Republic Mariusz Blaszczak came up with the idea of ​​deploying German Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in Ukraine, and not in Poland.
