Germany has approved the supply of weapons to Turkey worth several hundred million euros.

Germany has approved the supply of weapons to Turkey worth several hundred million euros, mainly for the Navy, German media write, citing lists from the Ministry of Economics presented to the Bundestag.

“The Federal Security Council, which meets in secret, recently gave the green light for the supply of German weapons worth several hundred million euros to NATO partner Turkey,” the publication said.

We are talking about 100 guided missiles for naval air defense systems, 28 SeaHake torpedoes, as well as packages of components for the modernization of Turkish U209 submarines and engine parts for corvettes and frigates.

In total, the package for Turkey could cost 336 million euros, the magazine notes, emphasizing that the financial framework of the deal is not mentioned in the available document.

Germany remained the last country not to lift the arms embargo on Ankara.
