Germany called for preserving the mosque of the banned Islamic Center of Hamburg.

Germany called for preserving the mosque of the banned Islamic Center of Hamburg.

The Central Council of Muslims in Germany, after the ban on the activities of the Islamic Center of Hamburg, called for the preservation of the Blue Mosque associated with it, which was seized due to the ban.

“We call on all parties to preserve the more than 60-year-old mosque, other mosques affected by the ban, and the long tradition of Shia life in Germany,” the council said in a statement.

It is noted that this mosque is a place of prayer for Shiite Muslims, but after a ban on the activities of the organization funding it, the mosque was seized and its future is uncertain.

On Wednesday, the head of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nancy Feser, announced a ban on the activities of the Islamic Center of Hamburg organization as unconstitutional and extremist: searches were carried out in a number of premises associated with it, and its assets were confiscated.
