Finnish authorities want to deprive migrants who have not worked for more than three months of residence permits.

The Finnish government plans to deprive migrant workers who have not worked for more than three months of residence permits, local media reported on Wednesday.

“The government recently submitted a bill for expert assessment. It states that the residence permit of a migrant worker will be canceled after three months of unemployment,” the media say.

Under certain conditions, the period will be extended to six months. This exception is provided for start-up entrepreneurs and for those who have worked in the country for more than two years.

The residence permit of an unemployed person can be canceled within the framework of the current legislation, but it does not specify a time frame, the material notes.

Business organizations criticize this bill because, in their opinion, three months is not enough to find a job.
