Duda extended assistance to Ukrainian refugees until June.

Polish President Andrzej Duda supports the law, which provides for the extension of assistance to Ukrainian refugees in the republic until the end of June this year, his office reported.

“President Andrzej Duda supports the law of February 9, 2024 amending the Law on Assistance to Citizens of Ukraine in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of this country,” the office said in a statement.


According to the text of the law, the validity of the law on the defense industry in Poland is extended from March 4 to June 30 of this year. In practice, this means that they ensure respect for rights, which include free education, simplified employment and child benefits. In addition, according to the law, the validity period of temporary residence permits will be extended, as well as the period for providing an agreement on conditional practice by professional Ukrainian doctors.


In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, about millions of Ukrainians with this status live in Europe. This costs the budget at least 6.2 billion zlotys (about $1.5 billion) per year.
