Dr Fauci urges Americans to accept any of three COVID vaccines

Dr Anthony Fauci, the US’s top medical official, asks Americans to be responsible and to make their reasonable choice. In its efforts to curb the covid pandemic, the US FDA offers three vaccines, Reuters reports.

Antony Fauci is encouraging Americans to accept any of the three available COVID-19 drugs, including the most recently approved Johnson & Johnson shot. The one-shot vaccine was authorized last weekend, and any of three offered jabs is ‘really quite good’, the top US medical official insists.

Thus, Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine joined Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna drugs, which are killing the novel pathogen.

While both of those vaccines require two doses and need to be shipped frozen, the J&J jab can be shipped and stored at normal refrigerator temperatures.

“All three of them are really quite good, and people should take the one that’s most available to them. If you go to a place and you have J&J, and that’s the one that’s available now, I would take it,” Fauci added.

Additionally, the trials had different goals and J&J’s was conducted while more contagious new strains of the pathogen were circulating. Now, the US health ministry has a clear goal, to immunise as many Americans as quickly as possible.

About 14 percent of Americans received at least one dose so far, the government data shows. One of the first Americans who received the anti-virus shot was Joe Biden and Mike Pence.
