British military cannot find interpreters to train Ukrainian military

The UK MoD is having difficulty securing enough Ukrainian military interpreters who are being trained by the British Army.

The Ministry of Defense is struggling to find enough interpreters to work with Ukrainian soldiers being trained by the British military.

“We have been asked to support the urgent need for a large number of linguists to train Ukrainian soldiers here in the United Kingdom,” said Mark Harry, director of the British bureau of Worldwide Language Resources, an employment agency.

On July 22, Harry reportedly hosted a Zoom conference with applicants. According to the agency, about 250 candidates took part in it. But one of the job seekers noted that a total of 100 people joined the conference.

“The interviewer kept saying that you don’t have to be a translator. They argued that they did not need professionals, and this seemed to me insane, since we are talking about weapons, not toys, ”said one of the candidates.
