Bob Dylan to receive Nobel Prize this weekend

Bob Dylan to receive Nobel Prize this weekend

Bob Dylan, the American singer, will come to Sweden for receiving the Nobel Literature Prize. According to the permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy, Mr Dylan has confirmed his visit to Stockholm.

The American songwriter and activist Bob Dylan is heading to Stockholm where he will receive at last his Nobel Prize this weekend. As a matter of fact, the singer’s visit purpose is couple of concerts – he will perform at the Stockholm Waterfront centre on Saturday and Sunday.

The Nobel Literature Prize winner isn’t going to deliver his Nobel Lecture, the only requirement to receive the eight million kronor ($870,000), this amount attaches to the famous prize. In a new update on her blog, Swedish Academy Permanent Secretary Sara Danius explained that the Swedish Academy and Bob Dylan have decided to meet this weekend:

The Swedish Academy Permanent Secretary Sara Danius wrote on the blog that Mr Dylan confirmed his visit to Sweden in April:

“The Academy will then hand over Dylan’s Nobel diploma and the Nobel medal, and congratulate him on the Nobel Prize in Literature. The setting will be small and intimate, and no media will be present; only Bob Dylan and members of the Academy will attend, all according to Dylan’s wishes.”

Dylan’s confirmation becomes a real for the Swedish Academy, who only two days ago admitted that the musician had not been in touch in the last few months ahead of his concerts.
