Biden’s son pleaded guilty to tax crimes.

US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden has entered into a plea deal on all counts of tax crimes against him.

The sentencing of the son of the American leader is scheduled for December 16.

On Thursday, Hunter Biden’s lawyers said in court that he intends to enter into a plea deal, which would imply admitting that the prosecution has significant evidence against him, while he is not going to admit his guilt in tax evasion.

This kind of deal in American legal practice is known as the “Alford plea”, when the accused does not admit his guilt, but admits that the investigation has significant evidence. Thus, the accused will have to accept whatever verdict the court ultimately renders.
This intention of Hunter Biden was announced on the day when jury selection in the case was supposed to begin. He is accused of failing to pay $1.4 million and using the funds to maintain a lavish lifestyle instead of paying taxes on time.

Earlier, a jury in a Delaware court found Hunter Biden guilty of all counts charged in the case of weapons possession violations. According to the prosecutor’s office, he used drugs, which deprived him of the right to purchase a pistol, lied on the questionnaire and purchased the weapon anyway in October 2018, and then owned it while using illegal substances. He faces up to 25 years in prison and a $750,000 fine, although first-time offenders are typically not given prison sentences.

American leader Joe Biden said after the guilty verdict that he accepts the jury’s decision and respects the legal system.
