An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 was recorded in northern Chile, the National Seismology Center reported on its website.

The tremors were recorded at 06.53 local time. The epicenter was located 64 kilometers southwest of the Collahuasi mine in the Tarapacá region. The outbreak lay at a depth of 89 kilometers.
