France will continue to provide intelligence to Ukraine

France will continue to provide intelligence support to Ukraine, despite the pause in Washington’s transfer of intelligence to Kiev, French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu assured France Inter radio station.

“Our intelligence is sovereign. It has taken a longer time to strengthen it in recent years, but the advantage is that we have really done it with our own capabilities. So yes, we have intelligence resources that we provide to Ukrainians,” he said.

According to him, we are talking, in particular, about satellite data provided by American services. The transmission of information, as he claims, stopped yesterday afternoon. According to Lecorny, it will be more difficult for the British to fill this gap for Ukraine because of their close cooperation with the United States.

Earlier, the US Department of Defense told that it was not ready to comment on information about the suspension of the provision of intelligence to Ukraine. On Wednesday, the Financial Times newspaper had previously reported that the United States had stopped providing intelligence to Ukraine. Later, Sky News TV channel, citing a Ukrainian source, clarified that the United States had stopped sharing intelligence data with Kiev completely, and not selectively. The Daily Mail newspaper also reported that the United States had banned Britain from sharing American intelligence data with Kiev.
