Maduro announced the creation of a youth anti-fascist movement.

Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, at the closing of the World Congress of Anti-Fascist Youth and Students in the state of Miranda, announced the creation of a Great Anti-Fascist Youth Movement, which should promote unity between young people and build a new world.

“Nothing and no one will take away from us the 21st century, which we won with love, work and great heroism. I congratulate you, because today a great anti-fascist student youth movement is being born in Venezuela,” the politician said, speaking in the Simon Bolivar Park in the city of La. Carlota, the event was broadcast by VTV.

According to Maduro, youth “are possible and necessary to overthrow what the Yankee empire is trying to impose on the world,” and for this purpose they need to create new forms of community and “promote their own strategies of resistance.”

About a thousand delegates of the anti-fascist youth congress from 72 countries adopted a declaration following discussions at seven thematic tables, which condemned interference in the lives of countries, colonialism and imperial attempts to “exterminate free peoples.

“Fascism attacks democracy and deprives people of their basic rights, perpetuating inequality, oppression, violence and death. Fascism is our antagonistic enemy,” the text of the final declaration says.

Congress participants also proposed the formation of a think tank to combat fascism and the creation of a school in Caracas and a research center dedicated to the study of critical issues relating to modern fascism. Maduro supported this proposal and invited young people to set up their headquarters in the National Youth School “Antonio José de Sucre”, which is currently under construction.
