Trump has found a replacement for Gaetz, who recused himself, as head of the Justice Department.

Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election, announced that he would invite former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to head the Justice Department instead of Congressman Matt Gaetz, who recused himself.

“I am proud to announce that former Attorney General of the great State of Florida Pam Bondi will be our next Attorney General,” Trump said in a statement posted on his social media site, Truth Social.

The head of the American Department of Justice is also the country’s attorney general.

Previously, Trump nominated Congressman Gaetz for this post, but he announced the withdrawal of his candidacy, saying that his possible confirmation would be a distraction for the preparation of the new Trump administration. According to him, the new administration does not have time for long-term disagreements in Washington, and the Justice Department must be fully ready to work from the first day of the president’s term.

Gaetz was investigated by the House Ethics Committee, alleging that he could allegedly pay for sex.
