Two masked men poured an unknown strong-smelling liquid, presumably acid, into the city cultural center in Henstedt-Ulzburg, where a conference of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is planned to be held, the Bild newspaper reports.
⠀
“Even before the start of the AfD party conference, the first incident had already occurred. Two masked men doused the room with acid,” the publication said.
⠀
Both offenders were reportedly wearing Halloween costumes. They spilled a strong-smelling liquid substance in the sanitary area of the community center, as noted, the police did not say what kind of liquid it was.
⠀
“Firefighters, equipped with breathing masks and… protective suits, entered the city cultural center. The first samples of the substance were taken and additional evidence was seized,” the newspaper says.
⠀
It is emphasized that at the time of the incident, access to the center was free due to an event that had nothing to do with the AfD.
⠀
The search began immediately after the incident, but was unsuccessful. Bild notes, citing the police, that no one was injured as a result of the incident.
