Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Alexander Vulin said that he does not see a future in the European Union, and BRICS is becoming a real and reliable alternative to the EU.

“Personally, I don’t see a future in the European Union, I don’t see a future for Serbia in the European Union, but I am also concerned about the future of the European Union itself as an organization. It would be irresponsible for us if we stopped all our work towards the EU and said “what’s done” , then it’s done.” No. But BRICS is very important. BRICS is becoming a real alternative to the European Union. A couple of years ago we did not have any alternative to the European Union. Now BRICS, as a completely new platform, is becoming a real and reliable alternative,” Vulin told on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.

The BRICS summit is taking place in Kazan from October 22 to 24.

He said he expected “a lot” from the summit, including new proposals and ideas, as well as what the next step would be for the leading BRICS countries.
⠀
“We expect to see new proposals, to see new ideas, to see what the next step will be for the leading BRICS countries. A common currency? Will this be some kind of stronger alliance? BRICS is still a platform. It is not an economic alliance, it is a platform. there is still no common institution. We will wait and see,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
