Three English women have been charged with terrorism after demonstrating support for Hamas.

Three women in London have been found guilty of terrorism offenses after using images supporting the Palestinian movement Hamas at a pro-Palestinian demonstration, London police said on Tuesday.

“Three women who displayed images in support of Hamas at a pro-Palestinian demonstration were found guilty of a terrorist crime,” a press release published on the department’s website said.

All three used images of paragliders at the October 14 march – two women attached them to their backs, another on a banner she was carrying, London police said. It is noted that Hamas members used paragliders to attack Israel on October 7.

The women were found guilty because the use of the images in circumstances of the Middle East conflict raised a “reasonable suspicion” that they were members or supporters of Hamas, a banned organization in Britain, it said.

All three were sentenced to 12 months of probation, the press release said.
