Erdogan announced work on a new mechanism for a settlement in Gaza.

Turkey is working on a new security mechanism for the Palestinian-Israeli settlement,  the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

“Our culture recommends keeping a finger on the pulse of the oppressed. An unprecedented human tragedy is happening in Palestine. Hospitals and schools are being bombed,” Erdogan said, speaking at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Astana on Friday.

According to him, “there are no words to describe the atrocity in Gaza.”

“Since October 7, there is no concept that could describe this atrocity. For 28 days, crimes against humanity have been committed. Turkey has taken a principled position, we do not approve of any actions against civilians. We are working on new mechanisms to guarantee the safety of everyone. At the moment, we have sent 10 planes with humanitarian cargo, and we will continue to send more. The joint actions of the Turkic world will contribute first to a ceasefire and then to peace,” the Turkish leader said.
