Poland will send additional troops to the Belarusian border.

Poland will continue to build up the grouping of troops on the border with Belarus, said Minister of National Defense of the Republic Mariusz Blaszczak at a meeting with the military.

“The Polish authorities, the Polish government are doing a lot to ensure security. But, apparently, the provocations show that an even greater military presence is needed in order to deter the aggressor in order to prevent provocations,” he said, noting that this – his personal decision.

Marek Sokolovsky, deputy head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, said that helicopters from two brigades had been deployed to the border. According to him, they are ready to use weapons “if something dangerous happens.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic accused two Belarusian helicopters of violating Polish airspace, after which Blaschak instructed to increase the border grouping of troops. Minsk called Warsaw’s statement a provocation for “another justification for building up forces.”

In turn, the chairman of the ruling Law and Justice party, Yaroslav Kaczynski, said earlier that Poland is strengthening the border with Belarus because of the presence of fighters of the private military company (PMC) Wagner there. Polish border guards also claim an increase in the number of illegal immigrants trying to cross the border. In the US, they noted that they do not see security threats to Warsaw or other NATO members that could come from Wagner fighters.
