The EU wants to create a fund to replenish Kyiv’s military stocks for four years.

The EU plans to create a fund to replenish Ukraine’s military stocks in the amount of 20 billion euros over four years, Politico reports, citing diplomats.

“The EU will offer … a fund to secure the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the next four years in the amount of 20 billion euros,” the publication said. It is noted that within the framework of the project, the bloc will help countries cover the costs of military assistance to Kyiv.

According to the newspaper, EU foreign ministers will discuss the plan during a meeting on July 20. According to diplomats, it is planned to approve the proposal by autumn.

At the same time, as the newspaper notes, the indicated amount serves as a “ceiling”, there is no guarantee that 20 billion euros will be spent on helping Kyiv.
