The man who attacked Pelosi’s husband apologized for the unfinished work.

David DePape, who attacked the home of former Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi last October and wounded her husband, has apologized for a job well done and said he should have “better prepared” for the attack.

“I want to apologize to you. I ruined everything … I’m so sorry that I couldn’t continue. It’s my fault, no one else’s fault. I should have prepared better,” said Depipe, who is in prison.

A court in San Francisco on Friday ordered the release of police chest cameras and other material related to the October 2022 attack. Pelosi herself said she was not going to watch a video showing her husband being beaten with a hammer.

Her husband suffered a fractured skull and severe injuries to both arms when he was beaten with a hammer by Canadian-born Depape, 42, who broke into their San Francisco home.

Pelosi was in Washington at the time. DePape was detained at the scene of the crime and charged with assaulting a family member of a US official and attempting to kidnap a US official. Together, he faces up to 50 years in prison.

After the November 2022 elections and the transition of the House of Representatives to the control of the Republicans, Pelosi, an associate of President Joe Biden in the Democratic Party, continues to work as an ordinary congresswoman.
