PM Johnson praises ‘great spirit’ shown by UK in tackling COVID-19

The British prime minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday stressed the “great spirit” shown by the people during the pandemic. Tackling the COVID-19 pathogen becomes a source of optimism about the lifting of restrictions.

In the UK, the National Day of Reflection was marked by the PM’s address, in which the top country’s official has praised the compatriots for their contribution in the fight against the coronavirus and tackling the epidemic.

Boris Johnson said he is proud of the great spirit shown by the nation through most of 2020, the toughest-ever year for the kingdom.

“The last 12 months has taken a huge toll on us all, and I offer my sincere condolences to those who have lost loved ones. Today, the anniversary of the first lockdown, is an opportunity to reflect on the past year one of the most difficult in our country’s history,” said PM.

Over half of the UK’s adult population have now received their first jab.
