GOP hopeful , Marco Rubio, appealed for the votes of atheist in the coming elections. While answering questions from an “activist atheist,” Marco Rubio said he’ll champion a country where “no one is forced to violate their conscience.” “No one is going to force you to believe in God, but no one is going to force me to stop talking about God,” he said, prompting applause and a whistle of support from the crowd. According to huffingtonpost, erlier in the meeting, an atheist asked about Rubio’s new ad, explaining that atheists such as him are “looking for somebody that will uphold their rights as Americans, and not pander to a certain religious group,” he said. “You have a right to believe whatever you want,” said Rubio, a Roman Catholic, in response. “You have a right to believe in nothing at all.”
Rubio dares Cruz, shares calculator to visitors
Senator Marco Rubio and his campaign team offered small calculators at his GOP rival Ted Cruz‘s events in New Hampshire saying Cruz himself is a political calculator. Just outside a Cruz event at a Sanbornville, New Hampshire, activists on Tuesday offered visitors the tiny gadgets and one-page summary of instances where they say the Texas Republican changed his positions. “That is not consistent conservatism, that is political calculation,” the sticker on the calculator quotes Rubio as saying. The two candidates, Cruz and Rubio are justling for conservative votes.
Rubio talks tough ahead of polls
People might have gotten a wrong impression of Rubio and he’s making them know that he has endured comments and attacks from his rivals, but no more. Rubio went to a gun store on Christmas Eve, in fact, because he was just itching to buy one, he told New Hampshire voters last week. No one would be harder on terrorists: He would give them a “one-way ticket to Guantánamo, where we’re going to find out everything they know” he said.
Rubio positions himself as a manly enough to be President
In fairness, Mr. Rubio’s conspicuously manly talk comes as rivals have tried to infantilize or even feminize him — none more than Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey, who speculated recently that Mr. Rubio would get creamed by Hillary Clinton in a general election: “She’ll pat him on the head and then cut his heart out.” On Monday, Mr. Christie again spoke of the 44-year-old Mr. Rubio as if he were a child, “This is a first-term senator who still is learning where the men’s room is in the Senate, let alone figuring out how to lead a country.”
