Honduras plane crash: Private jet from Texas splits in half in crash landing

Honduras plane crash: Private jet from Texas splits in half in crash landing

The Gulfstream jet, which was travelling from Texas, skidded out of control at Honduran international airport. Incredibly, all passengers and crew onboard the aircraft survived the crash, authorities said on Tuesday.

Honduran capital became the place of jet crash, the residents attempted to prevent a fire at the scene by spraying the aircraft with hand-held fire extinguishers. While jet splits in half in a crash landing, part of the wreckage appears to lie across the street. Motorists even stopped to get a look at the crash site from a busy neighbouring road.

The aircraft ended up close to a busy road near Toncontin International Airport in Tegucigalpa – which is surrounded by mountains and residential neighbourhoods – on Tuesday. That airport is considered one of the world’s most treacherous. Honduras’ emergency management agency confirmed that first responders rescued passengers and crew.

Video posted online showed what appeared to be residents pulling people out of the damaged fuselage of the white aircraft, while others sprayed it with hand-held fire extinguishers. Sounds incredible but all crew members and passengers were rescued.

According to Federal Aviation Administration, the crashed plane was registered to TVPX Aircraft Solutions Inc in North Salt Lake, Utah.
