Javier Bardem and Alec Baldwin have come to the defence of Woody Allen while other Hollywood stars (many of which were lighted by Allen) preferred to keep a distance from the film-maker.
The resurfaced allegations of sexual abuse made Woody Allen very special person in Hollywood. Actually, he is so special now that his colleagues and actors prefer not to deal with him. Instead of the distancing themselves from Mr Allen, Javier Bardem defences the director – the Spanish actor worked with Allen in 2008 while they making Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Woody Allen’s daughter Dylan Farrow accused him of molesting. many Hollywood actors including Ellen Page, Michael Caine and Greta Gerwig all said they would never work with film-maker again, while Bardem has said in a new interview that he is “absolutely not” ashamed of starring in the film.
“If there was evidence that Woody Allen was guilty, then yes, I would have stopped working with him, but I have doubts,”
Javier said in an interview with Paris Match and added he is shocked by this sudden treatment.
“Judgments in the states of New York and Connecticut found him innocent. The legal situation today is the same as in 2007,”
he added.
Alec Baldwin also supports Woody Allen, the actor was the only one who had no doubt in Allen’s high moral. Defending the director, Alec tweeted, that Mr Allen was investigated forensically by NY and CT states and no charges were filed.
“The renunciation of him and his work, no doubt, has some purpose. But it’s unfair and sad to me. I worked w WA 3 times and it was one of the privileges of my career,”
Baldwin wrote.
