French designer Pierre Cardin refused to attend the fashion show in the US because of an unspecified accident. Mr Cardin soon will turn 95, on July 2 the world of fashion will congratulate the fashion legend.
One of the prominent fashion designers of the 20th century has to skip to attend the defile, which dedicated to his designs because of an accident. On Saturday, the legend of the world fashion planned to be present at the fashion exhibit ‘Pierre Cardin: 70 Years of Innovation’ in Newport, Rhode Island.
The Saturday’s fashion exhibition will demonstrate many examples of the designs, which Pierre Cardin developed over the decades. It is worth to note that the French couturier was the first one to sell ready-to-wear clothing in the Soviet Union as early as 1971. All his collections are the brightest illustrations to the human’s history of the 20th century.
On Thursday, the Preservation Society of Newport County issued a statement from Cardin saying “the show must go on.” The group says Cardin will “deliver a personal message from Paris” during the show.
Pierre Cardin, a legend of contemporary fashion
Pierre Cardin’s show will feature more than 80 looks from designer’s career. It is being held at The Breakers, Newport’s most famous mansion.
On Saturday, the exhibit “Pierre Cardin: 70 Years of Innovation” will feature 42 pieces from Cardin’s private archives that document his career from the 1950s through 2016. On July 2, the couturier will celebrate his 95th birthday.
