Two people were injured in an attack on a lyceum in France.

Two masked assailants attacked a lyceum in western France, leaving a teacher and a student slightly injured.

“One student and one teacher were “slightly injured” on Thursday morning when two masked men burst into the Marguerite de Valois Lyceum in Angoulême and fled the scene,”  police said.

The incident occurred around 10:00 local time during recess. Unknown people used tear gas against the student. After the teacher intervened in the situation, the attackers began to run away. The teacher tried to detain one of them, but she was hit in the head.

According to police, the injured student cannot explain the motives of the attackers.

 

Police subsequently arrived at the scene to cordon off the school. By 12.10 local time, police announced the end of the operation, adding that students would be able to return to classes after lunch. There is no information about the arrest of the attackers.
