Turkey to be fastest-recovering country in tourism

Turkey’s tourism minister said on Friday that the country shows signs of the fast recovering after the pandemic. Next year, Turkey will become the fastest recovering nation in the tourism sector, Andalou Agency reports.

This year, Turkey’s Innovation Week was held virtually by the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM). In his welcoming address, the tourism minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy noted the country’s tourism sector will also start to increase rapidly.

Despite the epidemic, touristic Turkey performed better than its rivals during the lockdowns. The country has built trust globally and became the most preferred vacation place for several markets such as Russia and Ukraine.

Turkish hotels used the safe tourism certificate program, which allowed them to take significant measures against the health crisis in the tourism field. The Turkish hotels are protecting both foreign visitors and staff.

Commenting on the current status of the Turkish touristic sector, the minister recalled that the nation has completed 2018 and 2019 with record figures in the tourism, the most valuable sector for generating income and employment.

Turkey ranked in the 26th place among global services exporters, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said. Turkey should make innovation for increasing its share from global services exports, the top official stressed.
