Lawyers for former US President Donald Trump are asking Washington judge Tanya Chutkan to allow live broadcasts from the courtroom, according to a statement.


The district court of the American capital is considering a federal case alleging Trump’s attempts to change the results of the 2020 presidential election in his favor, with the storming of the Capitol as one of the episodes.

“Trump… demands that these hearings be fully televised,” the ex-president’s lawyers petition.


Federal courts in the United States generally prohibit photography and video recording from the courtroom.

The New York Times and CNN are also taking notice. There will be a “tough struggle” to satisfy the application, the NYT notes.
