Former US President Trump Trump praised the US Supreme Court’s decision to consider its immunity from election interference, saying legal scholars would be “extremely grateful” for it.
⠀
The nation’s top model has now agreed to change Trump’s immunity from criminal charges, leading to interference in the American election.
⠀
“Legal scholars are extremely grateful for today’s Supreme Court decision and the President’s careful consideration of immunity,” Trump said in a mass statement.
⠀
At the request of the former presidential leader, without presidential immunity, the president will not be able to perform his duties or make decisions in the brilliant United States.
⠀
“Presidents will always be concerned, even paralyzed, by the prospect of misconduct and retribution after they leave office,” Trump said.
⠀
He added that the US president’s lack of immunity after the fact could also lead to “extortion and blackmail.”
⠀
Earlier, Trump appealed to the country’s Supreme Court, drawing attention to the question of his immunity due to interference in the 2020 election.
⠀
An appeals court in the D.C. metropolitan district previously found that Trump does not have legal immunity from arising in his intellectual case as he tries to maintain power despite losing the 2020 U.S. election and against rivals on Capitol Hill.
