Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election, offered New York congresswoman Elise Stefanik the position of permanent US representative to the UN, CNN reported, citing a source.

“Donald Trump just offered New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik the position of US Ambassador to the UN,” a publication on the channel’s website said, citing a source familiar with the situation.

It was previously reported that Stefanik was a contender for this post.

Donald Trump, who had already served as US President since the 2016 elections, won the presidential election on November 5. He became the first US politician since the 19th century to return to the White House after a four-year break. Trump’s victory was announced by all the leading media outlets involved in counting votes: the Associated Press, Fox News, CNN, NBC, ABC and CBS.


Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris spoke to supporters and announced that she would admit defeat, and current US President Joe Biden spoke with Trump and congratulated him.


The Electoral College from the states must vote on candidates in accordance with the will of the voters on December 17, and on January 6 the new Congress will approve the results of the vote. The inauguration will take place on January 20.
