Second Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Kang In Song called on fellow citizens to leave Israel and Lebanon. This was reported by the South Korean Foreign Ministry.

A meeting was chaired by Kang In Song to assess the situation in the Middle East and measures to ensure the safety of South Korean citizens abroad.

“The Deputy Minister strongly recommended that compatriots living in Israel and Lebanon leave these countries as soon as possible using available flights,” the ministry said following the meeting. Kang In Sun made the same call on July 31st.

She recalled that the third level of danger alert applies to Israel and Lebanon, according to which South Korean citizens are advised to leave the country. A travel ban has been imposed on the Gaza Strip. As noted by South Korean media, there are about 530 citizens of the Republic of Korea in Israel, and 130 in Lebanon.
